Alexander Valley Vineyards 2002 Cyrus Red (Alexander Valley)

Named after the pioneer who settled Alexander Valley, this wine, based on Cabernet Sauvignon, is very dry and pretty tannic right now. It has a wealth of black cherry, blackberry jam and sugared espresso flavors. Needs time, but it's a classy wine, and should be best by 2008.
