Allan Scott NV Cecilia Brut Methode Traditionelle (Marlborough)

This 50-50 blend of Pinot and Chardonnay is aged on lees for 18 months and as a result shows some yeasty, autolytic characters. It's medium-gold, almost copper in hue with a rich perfumed nose of ripe honey-flecked apples, lemon curd, peach cobbler, pressed yellow flowers and buttered toast. It's textually creamy and opulent with fairly vigorous bubbles, a broad mouthfeel and a short finish. Christina Pickard
