Allandale 2004 Shiraz (McLaren Vale)

This is a bright, cheery Shiraz intended for near-term consumption. Tannins are soft, with the cherry and red berry fruit hung on a backbone of crisp acids. Touches of vanilla and toast give it a sophisticated air despite its relative simplicity. Good value. Joe Czerwinski
