Alta Alella 2019 Tallarol Pansa Blanca (Alella)

A brownish gold color is telling, as this varietal Pansa Blanca (Xarel-lo) smells mature, yeasty and oxidized, with bready notes and little-to-no fruit aromas. A texturally full and generous palate tastes of salted bread, with a hint of baked apple. Dryness and lightly oxidized stone-fruit flavors are out front on a weighty finish. Michael Schachner
