Smoky, roasted and spicy on the nose, with berry fruit, licorice and black pepper scents. Definitely a warm, ripe, chunky wine with smooth blackberry, chocolate and mocha flavors. Big and with plenty of oak, but the integration and overall balance are commendable. Best now through 2012.
