Alzinger 2019 Ried Steinertal Smaragd Riesling (Wachau)

Editors' Choice

This wine's nose wants to give little away apart from a little tease of crushed yuzu leaf. The palate is similarly taut and still tightly coiled, holding all of its citrus secrets tight. It is the mouthwatering concentration and the pulsating citus energy that emanates from a deeply stony core that gives the game away. This is chiseled and precise but uncompromisingly fresh and mouthwatering. Drink 2030–2050. Anne Krebiehl MW
