Amador Foothill Winery 2000 Sangiovese (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

Few California wineries have striven more to perfect Sangiovese than Amador Foothill. This is a work in progress. The score isn't high, but it's a winery to watch. You don't perfect this varietal overnight. Dry, with black cherry flavors and pretty tannic. The challenge is to tame the tannins and create depth.
