Amorotti 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

There's impeccable richness on the nose, showing ripe red cherry, plum and blackberry aromas, with a hint of brandy-soaked fruit giving added depth to the menthol and tar accents. Time spent in large Slavonian untoasted casks has rounded the texture, giving a polish to all the rich berry fruit. There's grip and extract to the tannins yet the pure fruit and spice flavors push through in equal measure to yield a balanced result. Alexander Peartree
