Anam Cara 2017 Reserve Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

This sees a bit more new oak (37%) than the regular Willamette Valley cuvée from this vintage, but other than that the wines are not well differentiated. This feels thinly ripened, with earthy, herbal flavors ahead of light red fruits. Listed at almost 15% finished alcohol, there's a bit of a burn as it resolves. Paul Gregutt
