Ancient Peaks 2010 Oyster Ridge Red (Paso Robles)

The flavors could be a little drier on this blend of Bordeaux varieties and Petite Sirah. It's ripe and forward in stewed blackberries and cherries. Yet there's an impressive complexity that fascinates, and the finish is dry, with oak barrels bringing a smoky, caramelized richness. The end result is a near-perfect wine for barbecued steak.
