Anselma 2004 Barolo

Sweet spice, bright cherries, creamy vanilla, leather and cinnamon stick set the tone for what ultimately proves to be a traditional Barolo. It doesn't have the overt intensity of other wines from this vintage but it does offer elegant aromas and a drying aftertaste. The tannins are still on the astringent side: drink in five more years.
