Antico Castello 2014 Mida Greco (Irpinia)

A deeply hued, golden-yellow, this aged white wine has a shy nose that eventually gives up whiffs of wet stone, pressed acacia flower and the barest hint of honey. Reflecting the nose, the lean, subdued palate suggests saline, bitter walnut and the merest hint of dried apricot. Drink soon to capture what little fruit remains. Kerin O’Keefe
