Minty in the nose, with deep aromatics. As a whole, the bouquet is assuring. Wild blackberry and dark plum fruit create a tasty palate, while the finish is more subtle. It's a bit tannic and starching, and probably too heavy and forceful to drink today. Some time will soften it up. —M.S.
