Bulky and big, with initial green oak that morphs into coffee and vanilla. Red fruit in the mouth, with good tannins that create a plush feel. Lots of wood and espresso on the finish, with persistence. Expect better in 2003 from this Antinori-Matte joint venture; the inaugural '01 was excellent. Imported by Remy Cointreau USA.
