Anton Bauer 2003 Wagram Cuvée No. 9 Red (Donauland)

The heat of 2003 figures in this wine, which boasts outsized flavors of superripe fruit, ranging from peaches and apricots to cherries. Then it finishes on notes of anise and pepper. It's all almost Grenache-like, despite being a blend of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Imported by Prescott Wines. Joe Czerwinski
