A subtle earthiness that recalls wet chalk plays subtly on the shy nose of this wine. The palate reveals aromatic apple fruit that has a bitter almond tinge. This aromatic subtlety is carried by a textured, chalky mouthfeel and made precise by a pervasive freshness, all the more masterful in such a warm vintage as 2018. The wine is very elegant and definitely a keeper. Drink by 2030. Anne Krebiehl MW
