Fruit for this wine comes from a 1988 block at this esteemed vineyard that overlooks the Columbia River. The aromas mix fruit and barrel, with notes of vanilla followed by chocolate, cedar and menthol. The palate is tannin driven at present, bringing the acidity of the vintage. The structure is currently unyielding, but there is promise underneath. Don't touch this one until at least its 10th birthday. Sean P. Sullivan
