This new producer, harvesting fourth leaf fruit, delivers an interesting young wine. The nose carries scents of leather and barnyard, while in the mouth the lightly spritzy wine tastes like a black cherry soda. Some smoke and leather surface again in the finish, but in terms of weight and extract, it's pretty simple. The finish turns tannic; this will improve with decanting. Paul Gregutt
