Arbor Crest 2002 Merlot (Columbia Valley (WA))

Chocolaty and rich, with ripe blackberry and currant fruit. There's a streak of chalky mint in here also; this is a very dry, tannic wine but remains very soft and accessible. It's a big style of Merlot, even for Washington, which would be a fine match for juicy red meats. Paul Gregutt
