This limited-edition whisky—just over 12,000 bottles were produced—has more subtlety than the standard smoky brute Ardbeg. Honeyed and floral aromas dominate the nose, with just a whiff of peat following. On the palate, a note of smoke and alcohol heat become evident. Yet—especially with water added—the finish shows graceful notes of espresso, menthol and buttery vanilla. This was made and named for the Ardbeg Day event.
