Areté 2018 Pinot Gris (Willamette Valley)

Bottled in the type of massive, deeply punted glass generally reserved for pricey reserve Cabernets, this seems to promise something special. Fermentation and aging in French oak puncheons has helped to smooth out the rough edges and high acids, without impacting flavors. It's totally dry and low in alcohol, with flavors of grapefruit, lemon and green apple. Paul Gregutt
