Arger-Martucci 2003 Pinot Noir (Carneros)

There's something Burgundian about this Pinot. You'll find an earthy, sautéed mushroom, almost barnyardy quality to the cherry and cola fruit. The oak is strong, lending spices and wood tannins. Even at four-plus years, the wine is a little awkward on opening. Decant, or hold through 2008.
