Armida 2012 Castelli-Knight Ranch Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)

The vineyard is planted to Dijon clones of Pinot Noir. The result is a concentrated, plush wine, herbal and savory with tightly hewn tannins, a tartness of cranberry and rhubarb, and a substantial finish of cinnamon, clove and darker fruit. The balance between the wine's richness and more ethereal components is nicely drawn. Virginie Boone
