Arran Non-Chillfiltered Isle of Arran Single Malt Whisky

Opening bouquet is aggressive, malty and deeply grainy; after another seven minutes I note dried aromas of Christmas spice, dates, white raisins, and shoe polish. Palate entry is spirity and fresh; the midpalate flavor is zesty, woody/resiny, dry and astringent, then fades. Finishes with unbridled tastes of resin, grain husk, and raw heady spirit. P.P.
