Arrowhead Spring 2016 Reserve Meritage (Niagara Escarpment)

Bright aromas of raspberry and blackberry have a bit of a jammy quality to them in this blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but freshness remains intact, with hints of hay and candied violets. Medium in weight, the fruit seems baked and jammy on the palate, but lively acidity does well to lift it all up. Smooth tannins give just enough grip to this juicy, fruity wine. Alexander Peartree
