Artesa 1999 Syrah (Sonoma Valley)

The deep fruit and leather aromas of this silky wine are offset by stylish herb, earth and mineral notes. Smooth as it is, it has body and a chewy feel on the palate, as well as a long licorice and roasted fruit finish. Admirably, it manages to be at once straightforward yet intense and complex.
