Ashbourne 2016 Pinotage (Hemel-en-Aarde Valley)

Pronounced aromas of roasted coffee, cocoa, curing spice, charred plum and cherry skin form the nose of this wine, with green peppercorn and minty bramble accents in the back. The palate is medium in weight and plush in feel, with supple but medium-intense tannins and ample acidity to frame the rich dark-fruit tones. The finish is medium in length and fruit fueled, with a kiss of licorice on the back. Lauren Buzzeo
