Some of the Chenin Blanc grapes used to make this wine come from vines that are over 40 years old. This wine does them justice. Let's start with the incredibly floral aromatics, which mix quince, lemon peel, honeysuckle and jasmine. Floating in the background is a savory note that reminded me of crispy grilled halibut skin. The palate is lithe and lean, with zippy acidity and flavors like pink grapefruit, ginger and a wee bit of white peach. Michael Alberty
