Asuncion Ridge 2013 Nefarious Red (Paso Robles)

Dried mulberries and a touch of prune lead off the nose on this blend of 86% Syrah and 14% Grenache that also shows chocolate sauce, strong fresh fennel and seared-beef aromas. The palate is complex with dried strawberry fruit that's laced with anise, wild herbs and beef char. Matt Kettmann
