Asuncion Ridge 2015 Barrel Select Pinot Noir (San Luis Obispo)

Editors' Choice

This is a very delicate Pinot Noir from a vineyard 2,000 feet in elevation, which is a good sign for the potential of elegance for this grape when grown near Paso Robles. Boysenberry, leather, purple flowers and Earl Grey tea notes show on the while the palate is tangy with red-plum notes and soft in texture, lifted by potpourri-like flavors. Matt Kettmann
