90pointsAubichon Cellars 2017 Sur Peaux Pinot Gris (Willamette Valley)

In 2017 the winery changed its Pinot Gris rosé to an orange wine, with a French moniker that translates as “on the skins.” It's a barrel-fermented wine from the excellent Lazy River vineyard. Soft and approachable, its buffed fruits hint at tropical flavors. As with all orange wines, which are orange due to intentional oxidation, this is best consumed within a year of its release.
