The fruit aromas are in flux, changing from dark raspberry to boysenberry to blackberry with every swirl of the glass. Your results, as always, may vary. The aromas of pine needles and freshly sliced ginger, however, are easy to decipher. The wine's silky texture acts like a slippery slide for flavors of black cherries, sweet pipe tobacco and a nice bit of saline. Michael Alberty
