Bailiwick 2012 Silver Pines Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sonoma Mountain)

This wine opens with a curious waft of pastry-like vanilla cream underneath cherry tart and a squeeze of citrus. Oaky on the back palate it struggles to find itself in the glass, the fruit trying to make its way through the thickness of tannin. Letting the wine air a bit should help. Virginie Boone
