This 2007 version of the Cat's Meow is 41% Merlot, 41% Syrah and 18% Cabernet—much softer and simpler than the 2006 version. It's a fine, all-purpose blend mixing strawberry and cherry fruit with some more earthy, herbal flavors. It leans a bit too much to the herbal side, bringing in hints of bell pepper and green tea, but it's solidly crafted and well-suited to heartier winter meals.
