Balderdash 2012 Trademark Red Grenache (Edna Valley)

Touches of tar, concentrated rose petals and strawberry-black plum syrup show on the heartily extracted nose of this bottling, made by a vintner in Massachusetts. The palate packs a lot of flavor, from rose hips and dried hibiscus to pomegranate, elderberry and pencil lead. Matt Kettmann
