Herbal black fruit aromas are intense and demanding, with charred and toasty oak barking loudly. A hard, wiry palate pulls to the center and fails the finesse test, while this tastes mostly of burnt oak grain along with black currant and plum. Additional spice, char and resiny flavors pop up on the finish. Michael Schachner
