A sturdy Bordeaux blend, this Coonawarra red leads with plump plum and blueberry fruit backed by more savory, meaty notes, savory spice and a fair lick of slightly charred, vanillin oak. The palate is plush and juicy with powerful, spicy tannins. The oak rears its head, but another year or two in the bottle may settle it, and then it should drink well until 2030, at least.
