This offers appealingly sweet red and black berry and plum fruit upfront, followed by licorice, violet and warm gravel notes. There's a good deal of dusty, toasty oak influence, too. The palate is plump and plummy. Tannins are astringent and some heat can be felt from the alcohol. An austere, young wine that could benefit from another several years in the bottle. Drink 2024–2029.
