Barton & Guestier 1998 Tradition Grenache (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Predominantly Grenache-based, with a nice cherry fruit, spice, herb and pepper bouquet. Good but not dense fruit, which reads fairly sweet; offers spice, dried flowers, and tar accents. Decent tannins fan out on the finish, with pepper, earth and violet notes. Elegant and attractive, if a touch light.
