Barwang 1997 Regional Selection Merlot (Coonawarra)

Smells and tastes overripe, as though some grapes in the clusters were sunburned. Has typical black-currant aromas and flavors, accompanied by rubbery, asphalt notes. The acidity, though, is high, making it seem a bit disjointed.
