Beau Marchais 2021 Clos Pepe Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills)

This partnership between veteran vintner Adam Lee and the recently deceased Rh么ne Valley wizard Phillipe Cambie truly hit its stride in this vintage. Intriguingly sharp aromas of black raspberry, cherry, carnation and rose potpourri are both elegant and powerful. The palate is cohesive in all the right ways, offering tense tannins, fresh red fruits, spicy pepper dist and lingering baking spice flavors. Matt Kettmann
