Beaulieu Vineyard 1999 Reserve Pinot Noir (Carneros)

Here's a wine to mull over as you sniff the complex earthy, mushroomy, black raspberry and smoky oak aromas, infused with all kinds of spices and herbs. Take a sip, swirl. It turns even more complex. Racy, juicy fruit is framed in delicate oak. Tannins and acids are just right. Plus it has that elusive quality, elegance. It's California sweet, and needs the right foods.
