Beauregard 2014 Beauregard Ranch Zinfandel (Ben Lomond Mountain)

Very dark and dense in color, this bottling from a coastal vineyard shows focused blackberry and cinnamon-laced snickerdoodle aromas on the nose. There is blackberry jam on the tip of the sip but then it grows more intriguing with crushed asphalt and earthy flavors of thyme and sage, all framed by dry polished tannins. Matt Kettmann
