Bedell 2015 Taste Red (North Fork of Long Island)

There's a spicy, peppery edge to the nose of this wine, giving focus to the tight core of bramble berries and currants that rides beneath. A blend of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the palate is lithe yet energetic in feel, driven by equal measures of tart mixed berries, dried herbs and crushed black pepper. Crushed velvet tannins lend a seductive vibe, making this ready to be enjoyed in the near term. Alexander Peartree
