Bekkers 2017 Grenache (McLaren Vale)

Freshly squeezed cherry and raspberry juice, with a tarter rhubarb note open on this lovely, perfumed wine from artisanal producers Toby and Emmanuelle Bekkers. It's underscored by notes of rose petals, black olives, dried herbs and a forest-floor vibe. The palate follows a similar journey, woven with fine, sand-textured tannins. The pure fruit is supple and slippery. Harmonious and elegant, this could be drunk now or cellared until 2032. Christina Pickard
