This is an open, aromatic Tempranillo-Grenache blend from a small, outside-the-box producer in Western Australia's historic Swan Valley. There is, however, quite a lot of volatile acidity, distracting to the otherwise appealing red fruit, vanilla and soft spice characters. The volatile acidity is less obvious on the palate, where the juicy red berry flavors are more in the fore, wound in herb-flecked tannins. Christina Pickard
