Bellingham 2017 The Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc (Coastal Region)

The bouquet of this wine is currently very toasty, like buttery popcorn and wood-grilled apple mixed with mealy melon flesh and orange oil. The palate is bold, yet a touch flat on the middle, with medium acidity that just manages to enliven the experience on the close. There's a pleasant pithiness in the texture and lingering spicy tones that lend interest on the close. Lauren Buzzeo
