Benegas 2009 Libertad Vineyards Malbec (Mendoza)

This is proof that vintage variation is alive and well in Argentina. Reflecting a hot year, this is stewy and heavy. It smells of licorice, mint and black fruit, while the palate is syrupy. Prune, raisin and stewed blackberry flavors are front and center. Michael Schachner
