This is, by the producer's own admission, the only varietal wine of its type in the Napa Valley, and it's 100% varietal to boot. Dried fruit and deli meat give it an Old-World edge that veers into prune-like overripeness to the uninitiated. It begs for food.

I think who ever rated this at 86 pts has missed the mark or doesnt like Aglianico. This is a great example of the grape. Chocolate, dark fruits, smoke fill the glass and palette. this is a young wines that may need another few years.
