BenRiach 1976 30 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky Single Cask/Port Pipe Finish

Leathery and oily in the opening waves of aroma; nougaty following further air exposure; cocoa-orangey at the very last sniff. Palate entry is tart, fresh, oaky and prickly; midpalate features tastes of old leather, prunes, dates, black raisins, marzipan, brown sugar and dark caramel. The finish goes from sweet to bittersweet, smooth to raw, and orangey to oaky. P.P.
